Raise the Tabernacle

You are to raise the tabernacle of the tent of meeting in a day of the first month, on the first of the month. You are to put the ark of the testimony there, and cover the ark with the veil. Bring the table and arrange its arrangements. Bring the candelabrum and raise its lamps. Put the gold altar for incense before the ark of testimony. Place a screen at the entrance to the tabernacle. Put the ascension altar before the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. Put the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and pour water there. Place the enclosure around, and put a screen at the gate of the enclosure. Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all which is in it. Sanctify it and all of its utensils, so it will be holy. Anoint the ascension altar and all of its utensils. Sanctify the altar, so the altar will be the holiest of holies. Anoint the basin and its base, and sanctify it. Let Aaron and his sons approach the entrance of the tent of meeting, and bathe them in water. Dress Aaron in the holy garments, anoint him and sanctify him, so he will be a priest for me. And let his sons approach. You are to dress them in shirts and anoint them as you anointed their father, so they will be priests for me. It will be for them that their anointing will be as an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. - Exodus 40:2-15

Write these words for yourself, because according to these words I have made a contract with you and with Israel. - Exodus 34:27

Do Not Mix Meat with Milk

Do not boil a kid in its mother's milk. Exodus 34:26

Every Firstling of a Womb is Mine

You are to safeguard the festival of unleavened bread. You are to eat unleavened bread for seven days, as I have commanded you, in the appointed month of Spring, because in the month of Spring, you left Egypt. Every firstling of a womb is mine - hence, all cattle which is a male firstling of an ox or sheep. But you are to redeem a firstling donkey with a sheep, and if you do not redeem it, you are to break its neck. Redeem every firstborn of your sons, and do not appear before me empty-handed. You may work for six days, but you are to rest on the seventh day. Make a Sabbath in plough-time and in harvest, and make the festival of weeks, for yourself, of the first-fruit of the wheat harvest - and the festival of ingathering at its time of the year. Three times a year, all your males will appear before the Lord, the Eternal, God of Israel, for I will dispossess nations from before you and widen your borders. Yet, no man will desire your land while you ascend to appear before the Eternal three times a year. Do not slaughter the blood of my sacrifice with leaven. And do not leave the Passover festival sacrifice until morning. Bring the best of the first-fruits of your land to the house of the Eternal your God.

He is a Jealous God

Now, I am making a contract. I will do wonders before your people which have not been created in all the earth or in all of the nations. All the people among whom you are will see the work of the Eternal, because what I will do with you, it is fearful. Safeguard for yourself that which I command you today. Here, I am driving out from before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite. Be on guard yourself or you may make a treaty with the inhabitant of the land to which you come. Perhaps, he will be a trap in your midst. Therefore, you are to demolish their alters, break their statues and cut their groves, because you may not bow to another god, because the Eternal - his name is jealous. He is a jealous God. Perhaps, you would make a treaty with the inhabitants of the land. They solicit their gods and sacrifice to their gods. He would call on you. You would eat from his sacrifice. You would take from his daughters for your sons. His daughters solicit their gods. Your sons would solicit their gods. Do not make molten gods for yourself! - Exodus 34:10-17

Compassionate, Gracious, Slow to Anger

The Eternal is the Eternal, God, compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abundant in mercy and truth, showing mercy to the thousandth generation, bearing iniquity, transgression and sin, and not destroying the innocent, punishing the iniquity of fathers on their children and on their children's children, until the third and the fourth generations. - Exodus 34:6-7

Chisel Two Stone Tablets

Chisel, for yourself, two stone tablets like the first. I will write the words on the tablets which were on the first tablets which you broke. Be prepared in the morning. You will ascend to Mount Sinai and station yourself there, for me, on top of the mountain. But no man may ascend with you. And also, no man may be seen in all the mountain. Also, the sheep and the cattle may not graze opposite that mountain. - Exodus 34:1-3

You Will See My Back

Here is a place by me. Station yourself on the rock. When my splendor passes, I will place you in the crevice of the rock, and I will cover my hand over you until I pass. Then, I will remove my hand, and you will see my back, but my face will not be seen.

You Are Not Able to See My Face

You are not able to see my face, because man may not see me and live. - Exodus 33:20

I Will Be Gracious to Whom I Will Be Gracious

I will pass all my goodness by your face and will call the Eternal before you by name. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will be compassionate to whom I will be compassionate. - Exodus 33:19

You Have Found Favor in My Eyes

Also, I will do this thing of which you have spoken, because you have found favor in my eyes, and I know you by name. - Exodus 33:17

My Presence Will Accompany You

My presence will go. I will let you rest. - Exodus 33:14

Cast Off Your Jewelry

Say to the children of Israel: You are a stiff-necked people. Were I to ascend among you for one minute, I would devour you. Therefore now, cast off your jewelry. I will know what to do with you. - Exodus 33:5

To a Land Flowing with Milk and Honey

Go! Ascend from this, you and the people whom you brought up from the land of Egypt to the land which I promised to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, saying: I will give it to your descendants. I will send a messenger before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite - to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not ascend among you, because you are a stiff-necked people. Perhaps, I would devour you on the way. - Exodus 33:1-3

My Messenger Will Go Before You

I will erase from my book whoever has sinned against me. Now then, go lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Now my messenger will go before you, but on the day of my retribution, I will punish their sins upon them. - Exodus 32:33-34

A Stiff-Necked People

I have seen this people, and alas, it is a stiff-necked people. Now, therefore, leave it to me. My anger will rage against them. I will devour them and make you into a great nation. - Exodus 32:9-10

They Have Made a Molten Calf

Go! Descend, for your people whom you have brought up from the land of Egypt are corrupt! They have made a molten calf for themselves, have bowed to it, have sacrificed to it, and have said: These are your gods, Israel, which have brought you up from the land of Egypt. - Exodus 32:7-8

Safeguard my Sabbaths

And you, speak to the children of Israel, saying: Surely, you will safeguard my Sabbaths, because it is a sign between me and you, throughout your generations, to know that I, the Eternal, sanctify you. Safeguard the Sabbath for it is holy to you. The desecrater must die, for whoever does work on it, that soul will be cut off from among its people. You may do work for six days, but on the seventh day - a Sabbath rest, sanctified for the Eternal. Whoever does work on the Sabbath must die. The children of Israel are to safeguard the Sabbath, to make the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting contract. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel, forever, because in six days the Eternal created the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed. - Exodus 31:13-17

Bezalel Son of Uri Son of Hur

See, I have called by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur from the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the spirit of God - in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge and in all craft, to devise devices, to work in gold, in silver, in copper, in masoning stone for settings and in carving wood - to work in every craft. And here, I place with him Aholiab son of Achisamach of the tribe of Dan. Also, I have placed wisdom in the heart of all who are wise-hearted. They will make all that I have commanded you: the tent of meeting, the ark for the testimony and the veil which is over it, all the utensils of the tent, the table and its utensils, the immaculate candelabrum and all of its utensils, the incense altar, the altar of ascension-offering and all of its utensils, the basin and its base, the official garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, the garments for his sons to be priests, the anointing oil and the incense of spices for sanctification. They will do according to all that I have commanded you. - Exodus 31:2-11

Make an Holy Incense

Take spices for yourself: balsam, clove and galbanum, spices and pure frankincense. It is to be part by part. Make of it an incense, a mixture, the work of a mixer, blended, pure, sanctified. Grind powder from it and put it before the testimony in the tent of meeting, there, where I will be met by you. It will be the holiest of holies for you. Do not prepare the incense which you make, of its composition, for yourselves. It is sanctified to you for the Eternal. A man who produces any like it, to be scented with it, will be cut off from his people. - Exodus 30:34-38
