Why Did Sarah Laugh?

God's Contract with Abraham

You are to safeguard my contract, you and your descendants after you, throughout their generations. As for an uncircumcised male who does not circumcise the flesh of his foreskin, his soul will be cut off from his people - he has breached my contract.

Your Name Will Be Abraham

Behold, my contract is with you. You will be a father to many nations. Your name will no longer be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, because I have made you a father of many nations. Therefore, I will make you very very fruitful and will make you into nations, and kings will emerge from you. I will establish my contract between me and you and your descendants after you in their generations as an everlasting contract to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give the land of your wanderings, the whole land of Canaan, as an everlasting portion to you and to your descendants after you. I will be God to them. - Genesis 17:4-8
